I have the perfect bag, or at least it was when I bought it. Sometimes it's in use, sometimes it's in the closet with all the other perfect bags.

There are any number of perfect bags. It's perfect photographers that are hard to find.

I found my perfect bag a couple years ago and it's been on my shoulder pretty much every single day since.
Grafea Photo Camera Bag
I've barely glanced at the other dozen or so bags sitting in my closet for the longest time.

Looks nice. Funnily enough I found a very similar bag on eBay which is made of lovely well worn leather and it fits my R-D1 and Paxette with accessories in the end pockets.
I'll post a picture of it later - I've been searching for ages for something like it and boom there it was all of a sudden. There were two things turning me off the Grafea. They might sound stupid but remember this is the quest for a 'perfect' bag, so what the heck.
First of ll I don't like straps that attach with metal fasteners/clips. I find them a bit noisy and clunky - I like the ability to remove the strap but you know the feeling when you're wearing the bag and the thing is swinging on the strap a bit and you can feel the clips grinding on the bag... I know, stupid and the Grafea is probably very secure and smooth but still.
Secondly I'm not so keen on the stictched fastener being on the front of the bag. Not sure why but it bugs me. Weird, isn't it.
Actually thirdly I quite like slimmer bags. The front pocket looks useful but it makes it a bit wide for my tastes. Using end pockets instead is great, it works well (I have them on my new bag) but the front one?
I'll post a pic of my bag later and you can all say what you don't like about it too. My friends (yes, I still have some left) think I'm a right weirdo but they think I'm unique and awesome deep down.

I'm strictly a one camera/one lens guy (R-D1, 28mm) who often carries a second camera/lens (Paxette, choice of 11 lenses! or Polaroid SX70, one lens built in) so my needs are quite minimal.

yes, it is a manufacturers conspiracy to give you what you want. Then you wouldn't buy any more bags.
thats why you have to make your own. How hard could it be? (he he he he)

Here's my new one:

Quick snap of the outside. The leather is beautifully worn in. Small Leica badge on front flap (Not original before you ask if it's a Leica made product)
