why no Minolta forum

There are a few omissions, Leica screw mount, and no darkroom for example.

I was just wondering thats all. The first rangefinder I bought and have been playing with was a Minolta F ( I know it's like a manual focus point and shoot ) but I like it. It's so tiny compared to my D1 and don't draw the same looks. I have been on a small buying spree and the collection is growing. Latest one is a GSN from Byuphoto. Now I am lookig for a minolta 7sII or a Canonet QL17 G-III. I find the D1 says in my bag more and only comes out for Investigation photos and the nasty stuff I can't send to the photo lab

Feel free to discuss it here! Quick quiz - what was the only 'major' 35mm manufacturer that never made a rangefinder camera, although they have recent patents on rangefinder design?

I like my CLE a lot, but do we need a separate forum for everything?
I like mine too, and that's a good point. Perhaps some existing forums could be broadened to include other similar gear. I do think the CLE for instance has enough in common with Leica to be included within that category. On the other hand, I for one don't pay much attention to categories when browsing the forum, only to make sure my new thread is not wildly out of place!

You're both right. I always wondered why Asahi wasn't into rangefinders - everybody else was at one time or another. They never did a TLR either, but many skipped that, including Nikon & Canon. However...

My first good camera was a Minolta Hi Matic 9 bought in 1969. That was an entire summer of mowing lawns. It sits next to the Black Nikon SP. Still in great working order, VF/RF is clear, and it has not been CLA'd since 1980.

I;ve been using the Hi-Matic 7s-II lately. Very sharp lens. The VF/RF is not quite as sharp or easy to focus as its bigger brothers. But it is small and light, with a fast lens and uses easy to find 49mm filters.
