I am coming down to the conclusion that for the money, even new, this 35mm Nokton cannot be beat, especially those of us who have NOCTILUST DISEASE and cannot afford to finance our addiction. I am willing to cough up the $899.00 or so to get it for my M8/M6/M4-2 that I have. What puzzles me is why we do not see them onn Ebay used at a discount for $500 or so. People must love this lens too much to sell! I will assume this is a good sign.

yup, the Nokton often gets a bad rap, but once you see what it does, there is only satisfaction.

The Nokton 35/1.2 often gets bad rap ? I have only seen good comments about this lens and the photos taken with it (not by me, I don't own this lens) look very good to me.

perhaps not many ppl actually buy these lens, and when they do, they know what they want so they dont just flip these lenses on ebay.

KEH has a CHROME 35/1.2 in LN- condition for $819.00. Good price for the limited production chrome version. Unfortunately I'm looking for a black one. That and a black Zeiss Ikon to go with it!

It's a popular lens, that's for sure. It took me two months to find a used one. When I sold it a month ago here (for $750) it was gone in 31 minutes! (which was what I paid for it)

Get a canon LTM 35/2
i have 6 of them

Just wondering why you sold it?

Get a canon LTM 35/2
or
find a brand new never been used canon 35/2 c mount and adapt it to Leica M !

Good lens...but when you need 1.2, you need 1.2 - an f2 just won't do it.

Besides these ultrafast lenses have a look all their own.

Only for the size. Never for the images.

yes, do get the chrome! I love the look of mine!

Thanks for the tip Paolo, I just BIN-ed the Nokton 35/1.2 for EUR 590...wooohoo. Had been looking for one in Europe for a while now, but the cheapest I could find was 799 EUR in Germany. Ordering from the US is quite cheaper, but I have been very unlucky with Dutch customs lately.

I got both the Noctilux & the Nokton 35/1.2.

I can tell you it's not f1 v.s. f1.2.

The N35/1.2 is just a great lens. For what it does best, you can't beat it with a Noctilux.

No one I know ever sold their N35/1.2, unless they got bills or taxes to pay, and the N35/1.2 already is the last lens they got....

I think I am going to buy the Nokton

I think I am going to buy the Nokton

given the bad economy, the fact that I have the M8, and what all of you said here I have decided to buy this lens (black version). Now where should i buy? I have bought much from B&H over the years, but I see there is an issue with this lens regarding the rear element protection ring that does not allow it to focus to infinity on the M8. Will new stock at B&H have a corrected lens, or should I order from Cameraquest? I live in Allentown PA. B&H is really close in terms of shipping and ability to go to the store if I want.
