Hi all, I have a simple question for all of you that usually make your own camera overhaul : what causes uneven photograms on the film in FSU cameras ? Is the movement of the roll governed by a geartrain or by some type of friction?

Thank you
Franco

Question not clear. Do you mean uneven spacing between frames? I never had that on my Zorki 1C except once when the rewind knob had been pressed down.

Yes, I mean uneven space between the frames, I know it's a possible problem with old cameras, and I have a Kiev 60 and a Kiev II...

Until they do no overlap you're lucky.. ;)
I think it is quite common with Kievs, for a tech answer we would need to ask Ruben or maybe Rick Oleson...

Asking this question will get you very long answers.....you won´t understand at first!
Great avatar! Did you ever look for the runic inscription on the lion at the Arsenale in Venice?

The very same phenomenon is found in Horizon pano cameras, possibly all of them. The incremental mechanics from spool to spool is problematic issue.

Hey... don't underestimate me, please, I can understend a lot of things... :D

Thank you for appreciating my avatar!
I went in Venezia and visited the Arsenale a lot of years ago. I don't remember if at that time I noticed the inscripions on the lion... Venezia is full of strange symbols, inscriptions, and evocative names.
One of the next years I'm planning to go there with a guide written by Hugo Pratt, with all the "links" to the stories of Corto Maltese ( Favola di Venezia first of all), and I'm sure I'll find them
