Anyone have experience to relay using Wifi SD cards with the Xpro-1?
Full compatibility? Any issues to report?

I travel with a MBA 11" which has no card reader. Loosing one and then accidentally crushing the replacement on my last trip I'm looking at these Wifi cards (Eye-fi brand).

Thank you as always for your replies and comments.

From my experience with the X100 and eye-fi, I can highly recommend a cheap USB card reader which can be bought everywhere for a way less than the premium on a Eye-fi card. It is really easy to F... these cards up from my experience. I'd rather crush 10 readers before buying another eye-fi card.

Don't even get me started on the software.

You could also bring the USB cable BTW.

My experience in general with the eye-fi card has been terrible. I've tried the card in various cameras and results are so erratic as to make the card useless. I know some people love them, but I hate the thing!

Yep, Eye-Fi is a major nuisance - nice idea, but easily the worst execution in the history of both digital photography and wireless networking. Even the supposedly offline capable pro cards love to call back home to look for firmware upgrades, and it is near impossible to configure them to shut up and cooperate in the presence of a WLAN to which you have no access.

They may be a solution if you want to be wirelessly tethered in your own rural studio in some barn way outside the village, but don't ever try to bring one of these stupid things to your customers premises or use them outdoors in a urban environment, or you are in for a couple of very nasty and embarrassing surprises...
