After looking over my *cough* SLR lens collection, hoping to find something that I 'need' to have (if you don't delight in blowing your $$ on photo gear, you're not a photographer). I realized with a shock that I had no wide(ish) lenses for my Nikon FE!!

I knew where to come for help. I'm thinking of something in the 15-28mm range. And (it goes without saying) fast is good. Anything you guys suggest? Something of the E series would be nice . . . I'd be purchasing used of course :)

I have a Nikon 17-35mm F2.8 ED and it is wonderful. Keh has good deals on them, and I saw in the classifieds here there was one for sale for $1100. But if you want a high performing fast nikon lens, this is it. At 17mm if your shooting on a D3 or any film nikon the viewing angle is 110 degrees.

The Nikon 24mm F2.8 is a fantastic lens and available at good prices. Look for one that is AI or has been AI'd. Both work equally well on a Nikon FE. This will be in the under $100 range with some patience.
