There are conflicting "expert" opinions on what is the fixed focus distance of Widelux lens. Some say it is 10 or 11 feet, in other places it says 5 meters (more than 16 feet). Any reliable source?

I used a F8 for a few years. I remember the focus point being around 2.5-3 meters.

I'll probably need to do some testing. From my pictures @2.8 I can judge it's probably around 3 meters. It does not matter in most of cases, unless shooting wide open at close distances - then 3 or 5 is quite a difference.

I think the lens is 26mm with fixed focus set at 26ft. This would be the hyperfocal distance at f/2.8. Using an app called SetMycamera, I get the following:
f-stop/near focus(ft)
2.8/12
4.0/10
5.6/8
8.0/6.4
11.0/4.9
However I have had reasonably in-focus pictures at distances slightly less than these. Down to 4ft at f/11 for example.

The Widelux 6 did not set their focus at the hyper focal distance of the lens at f2.8. Handwritten notes in my Widelux 6 IB do not show the fixed focal point, but do show the range for each of the stops:
2.8 4'11" to 49'2"
4 4'3" to 65'7"
5.6 3'4" to 98'5"
8 2'7" to inf
11 2'4" to inf
perhaps that will allow someone to calculate the fixed focus point. Note that the widely does not focus infinity until f8.
I do not have the source of this figures written in my IB. I also have a vague memory of the focus point being changed in the later models, but I cannot now confirm this and may be confusing the change in focus point among Wideluxes (possible and unverified) with the difference in focus point between Widelux and Horizon(t).
