Will there be a new 28mm any time soon?

We all know about the new 35mm coming out, but what about a 28mm? Has anybody heard anything through the grapevine about a 28? The current 28mm voigtlander lineup is out of production, so one would think that they'd replace it. Tom, Stephen, anybody?

The 28mm is also a 42mm on the Epson RD-1. My standard focal length on that camera. A compact 28/2 would be nice. In the meanwhile I will use my lovely 28/1.9 Ultron.

I would love to see an affordable compact 28mm at f/2 as well. i would go for the 28/1.9, but is just seems to darn long for my r4a.

While the Ultron 28 is a little on the large side, I don't find that more than a minor problem. My real problem is difficulty "seeing in 28mm". Sometimes I manage, though, and find the quality of the Ultron is very good.

[Sydney airport. Hexar RF, CV 28 Ultron @f2.8; Ilford XP2, lab scan; resize etc. PSE3.]

I hope any new fast 28 is up to the same standards.
