I took the self-guided tour through William Faulkner's house, Rowan Oak, in Oxford , Mississippi two days ago and they two of his cameras on display. One looked like a IIIa and the other looked like it might have been a IIf because it had the larger diameter speed dial. Both lenses had caps, so I could not positively identify them, but the older one looked like a 50/3.5 collapsible Elmar. The newer one had a collapsible lens as well but it looked larger than the 50/3.5

He asked, late in his life while writing scene plays, if could do his writing at home. They (nitwit Hollywood) said 'yes.' So he went back to Oxford, they couldn't believe it, but he still wrote 10 scene plays for every 1 that was written by the Scene Writers Union.

He also was asked in LA to go dove hunting with a director/producer. Clark Gable was also in the woodie station wagon. Mr Gable asked what he did for a living, Faulkner said 'I'm a writer, what do you do?' So much for the the IQ of Hollywood.
