Willy Ronis and HCB

Oh BTW, I'm a dumb ass :bang:
There is a street I take almost everyday, and this week I've just noticed a sign mentioning "HCB Foundation" and it is like a hundred meters from where I live!!!!!!
Can you believe it? For 4 years, I haven't noticed it at all.
So, yes, you can say that I'm a dumb ass.
Marc

Thanks again Marc for your effort.

Yesterday I went to the Ronis exhibition here in Madrid.

I bought one book. Have all the exhibition the walls decorated with his phrases:

My photos are not revenges against the death and I do not believe that have existential anguish. Even I dont know where I go, unless I locate myself -more or less fortuitously - in front of things or people that I like and that I love.

Who has not known that state joy that accompanies the blessed moments in that everything is offered to us, like in silver tray? Deceptive situations that soon make us bite the dust. Fit is include, but at the same time it is to exclude.

Distrust, amateur friends, of the magic of exotism. You are the privileged victims of these exceptional hours.

The beautiful image is a geometry modulated by the heart.

The photography is the glance. Or it is had or it is not had.

Could be our motto

Yes. Its a great sentence.

I have some mottos.

Here one special motto of one spanish poet of the XX century: Juan Ramon Jimenez.
Give me force...

´We are going to make eternity, we are going to make the eternity, we are going to be eternity, we are going to be the eternity? You, I, We can create eternity one and thousand times, when we want! Everything is for ours and never finishes to us!
Love, with you and the Light everything is created, and what you create, Love, never finishes!

But the way he was looking at things was very personal [/I][“mais il avait un regard qui était bien à lui”: this is a nightmare for the translator; if anyone has a better solution, please don’t be shy], .
Take care,
Marc

Marc, thanks a lot for doing that extra mile for us, I could not have done it , my French is much too poor ( to say the least) for such kinda jobs.

"He had his very own sight of ....things " would have been another way to say it , maybe a bit stronger, not better tho.

Seems you live somewhere close to Metro Gaite, Place Catalogne, The Fondation HCB is in the Impasse Lebouis ? I have reserved in June one day for the Montparnasse, beside the Fondation some places in the Plaisance Quarter, Rue de Thermpopyles, R. Daguerre, R.d. Dantzig (La Ruche) are on my list, so it should not be too difficult to meet somewhere in the Quartier.

Best,
Bertram

Wow Bertram, You know quite well the Montparnasse area!
Actually, I live next to Plaisance, not far from rue des Thermopyles where I would love to have my apartment. Maybe we could meet in the area if you planned to spend a few hours there?
Viele Grüsse,
Marc
