Who made a Leica-challenging film rangefinder Camera in the past years, together wirh Cosina/Voigtlander? - ZEISS. Who is producing M-glass with retrofocal (thus sensor suitable) design? - ZEISS. And who is patiently waiting for the introduction of next generation full frame sensors? Guess who.

btw: Forget Rollei. It's just a traded-around brandname like Voigtlander. No real company, identity behind. But Zeiss is a very healthy, profit making company - and selling rangefinder photography gear is just a small (but prestigious) sidedish for them.
Looks like someone didn't notice the "bahahahahahahahaha" I had after that comment and decided to take me seriously...
I also like the way everyone always concentrates on "Zeiss" while neglecting where the manufacturing was actually done..

Sorry if I did not notice your admittedly very funny joke (ROTFLMAO).dcsang said:Looks like someone didn't notice the "bahahahahahahahaha" I had after that comment and decided to take me seriously...

Absolutely not neglecting. The opposite is the case. Because Zeiss already collaborates with Cosina, it is more likely they'll collaborate for another, digital project, too; and it is less likely that Cosina would do that with a competitor of Zeiss.
I guess it's actually not possible for Cosina to produce a Bessa-price-level DRF camera with another third party, without compromising a potential DRF project with Zeiss.
