I have seen another post on the F2D14MP version, anybody else use the F2D14 or F2D20? I am looking for a dedicated 35mm scanner mainly for B&W film - I know Plustek is another option but the Wolverine is much more budget friendly.

Thank you in advance,

Has anyone ever seen any quality results from one of these? I have never seen any.

I would like to.

How cheap is it, if you have to throw it away from disappointment?

Bumping this up because I am curious too. My scanning needs are pretty basic - to be able to digitize Tri-X (or whatever) for postprocessing and web display. I will not be making prints from the scans.

Sorry for being OT, but for those only interested in scanning b&w film, I'd highly recommend looking into a cheap, used slr or mirror less body with an adapted MF macro lens for a camera scanning setup. There are tons of cheap m4/3 bodies now available for about $100 and macro lenses available for well under $100.

There are some other elements required like negative carrier, back light, tripod, and leveling mirror, so maybe not recommended for those looking for an out of the box solution, but if you like to DIY the quality can be great and you get a bonus camera out of the setup.
