Hi all, does anybody know a realistic value to place on an old 'Working' Bronica DeLuxe MF SLR
It is in near mint condition (absolutely beautiful) and works fine. only fault is that self timer dial does not work.
Very curious as get the impression that these are very rare in such condition and may be tempted to sell.

Which model is it exactly? There were quite a few; D, S, S2, etc, etc.
I've read that earlier Bronicas (like my S) had brass gears (not steel) which could wear-out after years of use, so they may not be that attractive to buyers.

The original Bronica D has some collector's value, but it's hard to say what it might be, given the general decline in prices for old Bronica stuff.

hi, thanks for the replies. It is the Type 1 Deluxe, (D)
I believe it went Z first then Deluxe, very similar only difference being the different location of the 1/50 second X flash sync on the shutter speed dial. The were two type of Deluxe, type 1 and 2 both exactly the same i believe (mine is type 1, grey rather than green two tone body) . After this Bronica introduced the much less complicated and cheaper S, S2, S2A etc.
Everything works but the timer, I spoke to a guy in the states who says the self timer repair is pretty simple (50$ repair) but what with shipping and insurance this would soon cost much more. So would rather get repaired in the UK. Does anybody know somebody here who would is competent with such a job??
Not sure whether this camera is a collector or user. I certainly had some nice slides out of it, would hate the thing if it jammed up on us!!. would be nice to have this camera fully working though.
any ideas will be very grateful

That's definitely a beauty. With all the leather intact, I'd call it a collector. Get an S2a (which can be had for peanuts these days) as a user.
I'd seen those Bronica lighters on eBay before, but I hadn't seen the boxes which are obviously of the same design as the camera boxes, so I always assumed they were an unrelated product made by some other "Bronica."

The CameraQuest website enthuses about the Deluxe but notes that it is under-valued.
