worldwide price check, xp2...

When I was in the UK, I'd get it from AG Photographic for £5.49 for a 36 exp roll. Now I'm in Australia I know the prices will go up, so I'm getting some film from eBay at the moment.

It's an amazing film, and worth a lot more than I paid in the UK. XP2 is probably my favourite BW film all round, just so easy to use, forgiving and with extremely fine grain.

I think in Japan at Yodobashi camera it is 658 yen for a roll of 36. That converts to about 6.75$ USD a roll. I cannot be sure because I only glanced at it. Fuji Neopan 400 can still bought for 455 yen or 4.75 $ USD a roll. Hence Illford does not interest me yet as an alternative.

My first roll of Velvia in 2008 was $36 Australian. It improved my photography. $1 per shot.

According to the iPad index, stuff right now is cheap in Australia, but not film.

Ilford XP2 Super 400 ISO 35mm x 36 $7.99 @ Freestyle
Ilford XP2 Super 400 ISO 35mm x 36 $5.95 @ B&H

Even with the crazy US Postal costs it still a great deal to have film shipped to NZ

Hi,

Just checked a couple of Norwegian web shops - I found XP2 @ NOK129 (USD21 or so) in 135/36, NOK99 (USD16.50) in 120.

In all fairness, though, I believe my local dealer charges a slightly less outrageous NOK89 (USD15) for XP2, whereas my usual fix (Tri-X) is NOK59/USD10 in 120 and 135/36.

In my local filmshop in Trondheim/Norway, a (35mm) 24 frame XP-2 Super is priced USD 5,85, and a 36 frame is priced USD 11,40.
120 film is priced USD 9,86

So OddW; you should order your film from fotoimport.no instead 😉

-Nah, I usually use Tri-X - and if I buy enough of it locally, they may keep stocking it. 🙂

(Also, Tri-X prices are quite OK locally - slightly less than USD10/roll, more like USD7 if I buy 20-30 rolls at a time, which I tend to do.)

Now, if my film of choice was XP2, I would definitely shop elsewhere (The prices mentioned came from Japanphoto.no)
