I really should have one of these.. finally a lens that I can blame in case of bad pictures!

truth in advertising is not always an oxymoron. I love that the seller will refund the money if the lens is significantly worse or better than described.

I had a soligar variable focus lens that some one gave to me that fit a Pentax Spotmatic. The lens was so large and heavy I could have used it as a baseball bat. I was leery about attaching it to any camera afraid that it would break the mounting. I mailed it to a friend who uses it as a doorstop. (It was clean and unused and still in the original box. I wonder why!)

How much did shipping cost for that lens?
But at least someone found a good, ahem, use for it. I wonder how the auction-lens will fare when its buyer finds it in the post.

maybe it should have been shipped without any packaging. Stick some stamps and a sticker right on the side of the lens. The CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) did an "experiment" shipping various odd items without packaging (sneakers, frying pan, etc.). They all made it in pretty good shape.

I like this idea.
Seriously (hard to remain serious), this is the best ad I've ever read. We should give the seller (ysabinin) an award for the ad.
I really want to know what the buyer is planning to do with the lens. We should start a new thread about: what would you do with the worst lens ever, except taking pictures?

Based on the exposure this lens is getting by way of this very funny and brutally honest eBay ad, I predict that this lens will start a craze like the "Holga"-holics, will become the next photographic fad, and very soon you won't be able to touch one for less than $350, and will achieve "legendary" status (whatever that means...)
