Would a Jupiter 12 35 2.8 lens fit in a BessaR4a?

Justa want to know that... BTW, is that jupiter a good low cost investment? Probably the bessa would be my first RF.

Thanks, Santiago

The Jupiter 12 isn't recommended for Bessas as the rear element will certainly block the meter and may also hit the shutter curtain. The Voigtlander 35mm f/2.5 Skopar is very well thought of, and one of my favorite lenses. Very reasonably priced as well.

Thanks, Bill, that big rear element was a little "suspicious" to me. So, the Jupiter is out of the question.

Hi Santiago. The J-12 will not fit the R4/R4A, because of the deeply protruding rear element. I have personally verified this. Other lenses that I have tried but do not fit are the Leitz Super Angulons (tried both the 21/4 LTM and the 21/3.4 M) and the first version Elmarit 28/2.8.
I do not usually recommend the J12 because I don't like its imaging character. If you are on a tight budget looking for a 35mm, i'd recommend the Color Skopar 35/2.5 or any of the Leitz Summarons, as they cost almost the same and they're both outstanding lenses, with perhaps the Summaron having a more beautiful 'signature'. In any case, give me a call and I can show you the R4a with different 21, 28, 35 and 50mm lenses.

My J12 (although a fairly good copy) would not mount on my Bessa R.

The J12 worked fine on my IIIa and Zorki 6.

If you're looking for a budget 35, the Canon 35/2.8 is really nice. And of course, you can find the CV 35/2.5 (LTM) at very reasonable prices.
