I love my Canadian 50 summicron and 90 summicron. Superb lenses! (sorry Kostya)
I love my 1994 Toyota pickup truck. Superb reliable vehicle. My wife says it will fall apart around my body someday, but not today 🙂 Not sure how well-built current Toyotas are.
But Canada is a truly competent country and society. Not perfect, but fully capable of making Leicas today just as they did in the 50s/60s. I miss my summers in BC. The difficulty crossing the border nowadays is a real dis-incentive. Used to be treated like a welcome human in both countries. Today, I feel a little less welcome crossing into BC, but I feel like a wanted criminal attempting to enter the country where I live (US). Humiliating and aggravating only describe the sensation somewhat. We used to drive back and forth to visit friends and relatives with ease. Then they started wanting valid drivers license to get back into US, now a passport is barely sufficient if you're lucky. Sorry. Off topic. Canada rocks! Bring back the ELCAN brand.
