Sorry folks but I made a mistake over the FED and Leitz spools; the FED one to get is the one without the extending centre.
Here's a picture showing the plain Leitz one that just tucks the film under a clip and the FED one with the hook and extending centre is on the right.
The FED ones without the extending centre do fit my Leicas, btw. Sorry about that.
Regards, David

Bum deal Johan. Get a refund.
The missing take-up spool I would not have problems with. The decayed half-mirror would have me clenching my jaw and sucking it up. But combined with not able to load film?! I'd have that stuff back in the box and on its way to the post office in seconds.

batterytypehah!
Lord of the Dings
Am I alone to think that, for a seller who specializes in cameras, that is one cr4ppy description? "Inside of housing washed out and greased professionally," say what? To say nothing of the numerous misspellings. Not an expert on early Leicas but not being able to slip the film in means the pressure plate is upside down, right? Some "professional." I'd get a full refund and stay away from this seller, Johan.

Seller responded fairly quick yesterday evening, and offered to take the camera back, with apologies. Both the ad and the email (in German) had some misspellings and I assume writing just isn't his best skill. As a result, I do not think the seller lied about the camera, just that he is inexperienced with Barnack Leicas.
Today I had a thorough look at the camera with my friend Derk and we agreed that the curtains are indeed newly fitted. The shutter and speeds look real good.
I'm thinking the camera was serviced, somebody put the pressure plate back in wrong and the RF apparently was completely discarded in the process.
Tonight I'll write the seller and ask if the camera was serviced with a warranty, and request him to have it fixed under that warranty.
For a 1932 black paint Leica II it's a real looker and half way to functioning perfectly, so I'd like to get it spot-on after all.
Thank you all for your replies and for helping me collect my thoughts on how to go about. I'll update the thread when things evolve!

Hello all,
follow up on the black paint Leica II that I bought and received with flaws.
I've decided to keep the camera. The seller and me have exchanged several emails and I'm sure he was not misrepresenting it but has simply overseen the issues it initially had. He offered a partial refund and to send the original Leica spool by mail. I took the offer.
Today eBay sale 320778767438 ended with a price of EUR 550 (chrome lens and 1932 body). An Elmar 50/3.5 goes for anywhere from EUR 150 to 225, so that body (in less good cosmetic condition than mine) cost EUR 325 to 375.
For less than that, I'm now the owner of a 1932 Leica II, CLA'd and fitted with new curtains. My friend and fellow RFF'er Derk has offered to help me with replacing the beam splitter and re-aligning the RF. Already fixed the pressure plate issue, 't was a real easy DIY.
Yesterday, I spent some time lining an old leather travel necessities case with green felt, to serve as a case for the camera and 1 roll of film. Turned out real nice.
I'll be posting some shots in the 'Show your Leica LTM' thread soon.
Thanks all for helping me make up my mind!

Johan,
Glad to read that it will work-out for you, especially with regard to the pressure-plate / film-loading issue !
I have a black Leica II, 77xxx with an "11 o'clock" nickel Elmar 99xxx, and like it very much.
Please share some pictures from it when you get the chance !
