Would you replace RD1 with Leica M M?

If money is no issue i would go with the leica.

On the other hand I have seen people around saving money since years for their first LEICA - and than - they were scared to take the Leica on vacations etc. (Quote: "what happens if something will break - no I will leave the Leica at home....").
So they were scared walking with $ 8k on their neck - they were scared about any scratch.
They put funny LCD protections on their LCD , on the buttom plate they still got the foil protection - just in case they will sell it next year...

Sure the above is extreme and not anyone will handle his leica like this I think. But you will do, im quite sure, if you dont have the money to own a leica :D

I am not a professional photographer, and this is just a hobby I have and love, so basically I for myself decided to stay with the RD-1 because i dont want to get back into the "loop" of getting every new year a new Leica model M9 -> Mx -> Mxx -> Mxx etc.

So If you can afford a Leica + Leica lens, go for it. Im quite sure it can be a lot of fun.
Just be prepared ..the next better Leica will come soon...

I can afford one , but I dont need one. My RD-1 is doing her Job since many years without any bigger issues.

A painful situation, as I'm not shooting B&W these days. Make it the new M typ 240 instead of the MM and I'd jump on it in an instant.

Firstly, I much prefer the B&W photos generated by the Epson R-D1 to the M8/M9's (which look immediately and overly "digital", unlike the R-D1 images).
Therefore, No, I would not swap the R-D1 against a MM.
The MM is a fantastic camera, yes, but I don't need one - what for ? no GAS for me -
