Nup. trading down to a M8 from my M9 would be like trading a Rolls Royce for a Buick LeSabre, or something...
I had an M8 and the IR problem and crop factor were annoying
What I don't understand is calling a well-expected, well-documented, IR sensitivity spec: calling this an "issue" is like saying that Tri-X has a color-recording issue.

What's this thread all about? In my world where glass and skill is far more important than the camera, and where a TON of film can be had for the price of either and M8 and more so an M9, who cares?

Nearly all digital cameras benefit by these filters...I get your point, but perhaps many feel its an issue because Leica wasn't upfront about it upon its release? Also, which other camera needs these filters to perform as it should?

If I use the same lens on the M8, with IR/UV, then slip it onto the M6 with film, is there an issue?
Loaded question as that is what I am about to do.

Benefit right... but not required in order to get true blacks instead of purple.
