I just realized I posted my (seemingly) 3000th post in the "What is it" thread.

What should I do? Have some cake? Ice cream? Go get back my Canon 50mm f/1.5 which I just traded this afternoon? (I'm having second thoughts about that)

I now join the ranks of the ald forts roaming about the forum with 3000+ posts.

I should put a cork in it more often, I guess 😱

lol - "change it back"? Hmmm... 😛

If you only knew how quiet I really am. Really. I am. Ask sbug and JoeFriday.

The keys run amok. Or is it amuck. Amock? cuckoo.

Congrats, now where is the food and open bar ? 😉

I can't believe you traded the Canon 50/1.5 !!!! Who is the lucky new master, if it is not a secret?
Yeah, the cateter said "oh, you!" 😉

I actually got my Canon 50 f/1.5 back. I did say bye-bye to the 50mm tabbed 'cron. It will be missed, but I just wasn't shooting it. Went towards a 35 'cron IV. I really really really wanted the version I (8-elements), but the *@! goggles were too much of a bother: I had to remove my half-case to put it on and off, created flare in the viewfinder, and attracted too much attention. 🙁 Loved its look, but the non-goggled version is ridiculously expensive.

I shall get some Powerball tickets tonight... we'll see 😀

35th 4th, very cool ... I feel confident that we will finally get a definitive RFF test of the King of Bokeh now 🙂

By the way, the jackpot is 108 million tonight 😎

Thanks, Larss. Interesting you say that...I am looking into changing gears a bit. Perhaps one more year of programming/consulting to pay for this affliction, but then, who knows...photography seems to be in the stars.

Tom: initial tests were slightly disappointing compared to the 1st version, but then I figured out why: there was a thin film of crud on an interior element of the 4th version lens, and it was stopped about a 1/2 stop even when you set the dial to f/2; after some nagging, I was told to send it to a local shop (now I know another shop!), and they fixed the aperture right away, but will be working on the crud. They'll pay for the CLA. 🙂 Hopefully they'll have it ready by the 15th.
