Wow - look at our new toy! A TLR Forum!!!

Jeepers, Lynn, I shoulda kept that! Great colors!

But I'm satisfied with my simple Rolleicord III. I think I'm the only one to ever use it, it's seriously like new. Usually the IIIs look all beat up with use. This one still has it's prime of life ahead of it.

I have a Rolleiflex xenar model that I'm trying to rehabilitate. It's all good except for cutting some new skin for it, then it's up for sale. Truth be told, I love the simplicity and light-weightness of the 'cord.

Incidentally, the attached pic was shot with my Sony R1. With the top-mounted LCD, it's about the most TLR-like camera I've found. Though I guess I'd say Hassy-like since it's a more horizontal than vertical camera, but I don't shoot Hassies so I won't!

Wonderful to see this. My first serious MF was a Yashica MAT 124 G. I really loved that camera. A larger negative and a built in light meter, and it wasn't too heavy for me. What not to like until I got a 6x7? I also have a couple of others but don't really use them. Maybe it's time. And, like others, I can now load some 6x6 in the gallery.

I also really enjoyed seeing some of the photos in this thread, both the cameras and the results of using them. Really nice!

Thanks for the new forum!!!

My TLR's

My TLR's

Well, since many others are showing their TLR's, I thought I would to. They are in my gallery, and the links are below ( or the thumbnails or whatever shows up ).

The only one I have ever used is the Rollieflex. Some day I will try the Reflekta and but probably not the Rediflex. Wish I had used the Schnapps-O-Flex. sigh :D

I also have a Yashicamat D but sadly it doesn't work. Really like to see the photos of other TLR's. Some look really great, not all used up like mine. :(

Hmmm, I used my semi-resurrected Mamiya C3 for a roll on the Equinox shoot. If (big if) the camera worked after my repairs, then I will show one of the results here. Plus a pic of the thing too of course.

Melanie: Zowie! I didn't know (okay, I forgot, all right?) you were packing square-format stuff. Nice pics, too. I might need to stay away from this thread for a while...

Melanie - The picture of that dog of yours... the facial expression is priceless! Like a stand-up comedian... "Didja hear the one about the cat from Yonkers...?" Give that dog a cigar, and he'd be George Burns. Terrific photo.

Melanie, your picture of the dog knocks my socks off (actually, I'm not wearing socks as I just got up, it's just the first figure of speech that popped into my head).

This could easily grace the cover of the next AKC magazine. And it does, indeed, show what a Rolleiflex is capable of. Also, was it printed on Agfa paper? There's a slight brown tone...

Melanie, great eyes on that dog. Yellow irises I assume. The back-lighting in combination with shallow DOF makes it pop off the screen. Well done.

If memory serves, those are not the first pictures Melanie has posted from her Rollei - past efforts were also eye-popping.

Gene - really cool. Nice work.
