wrong development or light leak?

Before getting my M6 repaired i want to know what happened here. Any ideas?

(Today i shot a roll of colour film to get it developed in a large, automated lab. If there are no signs of light leaks on the negatives, it looks like something went wrong in my recent b/w development process) :bang:

At least some of these are surge marks from non-random agitation. The marks that correspond to the sprocket holes or the spaces between them are not light leaks. There is a line down the left side, however, that could be a light leak.

I agree, it looks like a development agitation issue, or incomplete fixing. The effect appears on both sides leading me to think it is not a camera light leak.

As Freakscene says, there is a line on the left, but that could occur from a light leak during unloading of the film prior to development, or a canister lid leak during development.

light leaks shows white on photos though, so I would go for development problem. Or it could be an issue with the film itself,but not light leak to me.

I got results like that once when I agitated too aggressively using the twisty handle on my Paterson tank.

How old is your fixer?
I got results like that from exhausted fixer.

Drop a bit of unprocessed film in your fixer and time how long it takes to clear.

If this is a scan of a negative, I would vote for some sort of breakdown or deterioration of the film emulsion. How old is the film? How was it stored?

If this is a scan of a print, my first instinct is to still suspect the medium being bad. i.e. How old is the paper?

IMO your process / ratios would have to be way off to get these kind of results if everything is fresh and non-contaminated.
