I may be able to acquire an X E 10 or an X E 2s(.labouriously written on an I pad ). Plus. Standard zoom to complement the 27 MM.-Rich relative of wife concerned at my antiquated X Pro 1 and Sony A35 !
Any thoughts as to which for general photography ?
They seem to be very similar , but I like the SLR style !
Regards Dee.

How on earth do they do this on. A phone ?
The new X Pro 1 isn,t going anywhere , but shooting kids just does not work !
The idea is to extend the system with a more up to date camera .

A part of my family lineage comes from around Malaysia. Selamat pagi!

As I was building up my Fuji kit this year, I had a chance to use the XE2S (for rental), XE2 w/ v4.00 upgrade and Fuji XT10.

There were a few key things for me that made me choose the XT10.

I do really enjoy the rangefinder style of the XE2S and with my budget, I went with an XE2 (used) at first. It was great but an issue started to creep up that gave me great concern (for some reason it wouldn't power on until the battery was taken out and put back in again... this didn't happen often but it happened unpredictably enough that I wasn't willing to take it to my pro wedding work). So I returned it and was like "hmm... maybe I can upgrade to a new XE2S".

One of the key things for me is being able to add that little shutter soft release onto a camera. With my long fingers, it makes a BIG difference in handling. I wanted to get an XT1 but the budget didn't allow and also there was no way to put in a soft release.

So I looked at an XT10. Price was about the same as an XE2s (or not much more). The flip screen and extra dials and a little bit of an extra thumb grip on the back won me over as well as the ability to add a soft-release button and I've since bought it and used it in multiple scenarios, usually paired with a 35mm F1.4

I found the AF-C mode on the XT10 and XE2s to be actually quite good in good light... in some ways better and more accurate than some of my Canon cameras!

thanks.

It might not happen , but I did not wish to be swayed by styling (shades of Contax ÎÎÎ body with K4 top plate over Kiev 2 with 'pentaprism'style meter ! ASD is crazy ! )
Extending lenses is not an option here as it is his wish to in buy a more modern camera with the two zoom lenses , so it will extend the capabilities of my iX Pro 1.
There is an option of Sony A68 , but I am tired of the bulk of. DSLR ( other than the Leica Dig 3 and Panasonic L1 which I am using here for sheer pleasure as real photo opportunities are limited by schedules set by the sisters from Malaysia,Canada , UK who seldom get together .

The Sony uses an EVF anyway , so not gaining anything over the Fuji cameras except bulk.
I guess that I am liking the compact rangefinder feel with a fixed lens .

It,s good here in Ipoh though , last here in 1974 but it all seems so familiar , no tourist stuff with family , street vendors now under cover with so much option .
I like buildings and cars plus atmosphere etc , so the X Pro 27 is ideal .
I can,t keep up with discussions , deaf and awkward with people , so a camera is used for snap shots or not .
I almost don.t want to take out the camera to make the European stand out , so camera phone is useful , which I never thought I would say , X Pro 27mm is reasonably discreet though , which makes me wish to extend the more compact experience .

My daughter as half Malaysian Chinese seems to fit in here as she might not in UK . Fascinating , but with two very blonde European looking little girls , it must be a touch puzzling .
Thanks again.

x Pro works for me !

x Pro works for me !

The I pad does not work for me , but the X Pro 1 certainly does make me wish to extend the experience .
I can,t see the need for a faster 35mm as the pancake 27 works so well with the dial which I am accustomed to .
There are no concerns at f2.8 either .
It,s all new , so mistakes are happening as I try to find manual and work my way around the ISO factors and film styles .
However , I am dee lighted with the camera !

A Convert maybe ?

There are a number of comparison reviews online stating that a fully firmware updated xpro1 and xt1 have a negligible difference in AF-C speed, though the xp1 lacks tracking. If anyone here can corroborate this I would be interested in hearing about it.

dugrant153. Thanks for the update- really loving itin Malaysia .
nongfuspring-thanks for all your. advise, I will try to find help to update the X Pro 1 to it,s full potential , but a 2nd body with the zooms .
In fact, the experience of a Fuji camera with excellent quality zoom will be similar to my Sony A35 with it,s EVF and very basic zoom..... Maybe the DSLR style of the XT 10 would be less of a culture shock as the X Pro 1 just does not seem to sit right with a zoom , but this is just my history of SLRs !
