X-E1 coming - which thumbrest?

I pulled the trigger on a silver X-E1 when the holiday sale prices got too good. Had been wanting one for over a year, but didn't want to buy in at the top! Anyway, I'm thinking an accessory thumbrest will be needed.

Do you agree? What is a good brand that won't break the bank?

I have the Lensmate. It is half the price of the Match Technical version and certainly better than 50% as good. I wonder if there is a pass through version available, hot or not?

I had a Lensmate on my X-Pro 1. Now, it was well built but kept working itself loose from the hotshoe and drove me mad. So bought an el cheapo £5 one (clamp on type via allen key) off eBay and put that on and my X100 and Bob's yer uncle.

i.e. Try a cheap one first, you might be surprised.

The cheap ones can be a funny thing. I bought one for my X100 that I could not get on for the life of me. Fit like a glove on my old Leica IId. 😀 (that is my avatar, btw)

My lensmate was a tight fit as well..took a lot get it on.

Nothing a little edge or bottom filing won't fix. They're aluminum I'm sure.
