X-T1 full review

I just can't get into these reviews anymore. The cameras are so similar these days, that I don't do anything but look at the verdict. More excited to actually use it instead of read about it.
 
^same, at the end of the all cameras coming out now a days are capable of taking fantastic images.
just body preference now.

very excited to do some manual focus shots with mine though

Yep.. I'm the same as well - basically I can't "buy" a camera based on a review anymore - I mean, I used to consider reviews when purchasing or determining which system/body would fit my needs but now.. not a chance.

I find myself looking at ergonomics, form factor, price and how I would use the tool vs "image quality" or "megapixels" etc.

I think many of the reviews (at least the DP Review ones) focus on many technical aspects which, as we've stated, are starting to become blurred as we continually have new cameras hitting the marketplace.

True for me as well.

I value the user opinions (points and counterpoints) that I read here and in a few other places.
"Pro" reviews and Youtube are mildly interesting at best.

Lab reviews with charts and graphs amuse me enormously, when I stumble upon them.

I do thank the OP for posting the link.

What you said exactly. This is even getting my interest to digital photography at its lowest level ever.
 
I enjoy reading reviews - especially dpreview, who provide far more detail than I'm likely to wade through - if only to get a feel for the direction the industry is moving, and what trends are of interest.

So thanks for the links. I like the XT1 (and the OMD EM series), which surprises me, as I don't like SLRs. But, for all the look of them, that just isn't what they are. They're a whole new branch of design.
 
these days i find video reviews much more useful. especially the photobude one where the guy goes through every menu option. i think it's fantastic because everyone has certain things / features we may find useful and these would not be covered by more generic type of reviews. in general now most cameras operates fast and have good image quality so it is more about handling, ergonomics and functionality that should be considered.
