The AF does seem to be better.

I noticed the AF to be better as well.
I would like the focus throw for manual focus to be cut in the next update.

I guess that would be cool for those like you who manually focus.
I bought this camera specifically for AF. After just a couple days it's hitting focus right where I put it. I could not be happier with the AF performance in normal light. Have yet to push the limits of low light.

I pretty much always use AF with my X100, but improvements to MF would be nice - a single button push that would take it to hyperfocal for a given aperture, for instance, shorter throw for when I do want to AF.

Close AF definitely seems better in low light to me. Restaurant-type shots. Nice. I have always found it to be fine in decent light.

I agree this was meant to be an AF camera and that's how I use it mostly. I do find the AF too slow for certain subjects, though, which is where zone focusing comes in and a more responsive focus ring would help (and, yes, I know about using the AFL button to focus in MF mode but that's not exactly the same).
