The XF lenses have in-lens firmware that writes the correction parmeters into every raw file.

I believe manually entered lens corrections with adapted lenses are also included. But I don't use adapted lenses, so I can't say for sure. I don't know if the Fuji M adapter is required for the in-camera, user entered lens corrections.

LR applies Fuji's corrections automatically during import.

I think you might have to endure the unspeakable horror of Adobe Customer Support to sort this out. Since Adobe Customer Support experiences are evil, twisted affairs that can result in a lingering sense of hopelessness and despair... or worse, you might ask around on Adobe's LR user forum first.

Whatever you do, don't listen to Adobe Customer Support's advice to reload your operating system. This advice is just a vile ruse to get you off the phone and out of Adobe's hair for however long it takes to reload and restore everything. The support people are far, far away and they assume (sometimes foolishly) you aren't likely to hunt them down like dogs and slowly lower them into boiling, concentrated, sulfuric acid feet first.

to those who use LR4, is there a LR provided 'Lens Correction' setting for the x100? ive heard allusions to it, but i cant even find 'Fuji' as a listed camera in LR...

To activate the Lens Correction setting for the X100 in LR all you should need to do it check the small box next to "Enable Profile Corrections" Once check the following should appear
Make: Fujifilm
Model: Fujifilm FinePix X100
Profile: Adobe Fujifilm FinePix X100

Exactly! The OOC JPEGs keep my hybrid workflow exactly the same as with scanned images.
And I use TIFF as intermediate work format (just to anticipate the lossy JPEG objections).

3-no, for the "real" b&w look I use different film types (but not in the X100) 🙄
