Hi XA people
Shooting in Copenhgen near to Tivoli, every thing wonderful. Rewound a film and loaded a new film and now the XA4 only wants to self time when I release the shutter, only battery check works as normal.
Replaced the batteries, still the same
Does any one have a circuit diagram or maintenance manual, before I drop the base plate and discover lots of flexible film wiring? I'll try another set of batteries before I screwdriver, but I'd still like a circuit schematic first.
The only interesting thing is the weather was dry enough for static electricity...

No suggestions, sorry. Though I don't imagine the timer circuit is tied in with the exposure system, other than to trigger the shutter. It must be a fairly simple circuit.
On the other hand it is a fairly advanced camera despite it's diminuitive size and non-descript looks...
Good luck!

Thanks for the thought.
My thought was,
easy - if it is a switch contact or short then cutting a track to disable the self timer input - that would be easy.
difficult the integrated circuit did not like the static electricity and the cameras brain is dead... the battery check is the only thing that seems to work ok. Every thing else is self timer...
First two new AgO batteries. then google for any maintenance again...
