A bit late to the thread -- but I have the X-M1 and the 27mm and I love it. My usual FOV is 35mm, so the 40mm equivalent feels great. I also find the lens is of a higher quality than I was led to believe. It's made in China, some say it's not in the same league as the 56mm, etc. Even does a decent macro.
I also have the X-70 on a trial basis. It is a cool camera, and I like the touch screen, but I have not warmed to the camera very much. The M1 and 27mm just feel better. And there is a price difference. I got my M1 for $150 used, and the 27mm for $250 used. That saved $300, and I can use the 27mm on my X-E2.

went to sound set up and found it's an on/off choice so i went with on...the af confirm now beeps but then so does everything else that i do on the camera...doubtful i can stand that for long without committing homicide eventually...
