xpan middle frame

Has anybody noticed that the xpan split image focuser in the viewfinder is not directly in the center of the frame? I just got some test shots back, and noticed that shots where i centered up the subject were off to the left a bit. Just wondering if using the split focuser in the viewfinder as a guide is true middle of your frame?

It probably moves depending on the focusing distance (to compensate for parallax - the frame moves as you change focus). You should be able to guess where the center is, and you almost never want to put things in dead center anyway.
