Anyone tried pinhole shots on the Fuji? I messed with it on my M6 and came up with a few cool shots.
Just wondering if any digital shooters are pinholers!
I tried it with the XT1 and the Skink Pinhole lens. The Skink is a very precisely drilled and machined piece and it worked fine with the Fuji. It just wasn't for me.
There's been a Pinwide pinhole body cap for micro-4/3, that's been out for a few years. It's a recessed design which, with the format's short lens flange distance, makes for probably the widest angle pinhole of any digital camera. But because of the wide angle, there's severe off-axis false coloration, from the light hitting the outer cells at odd angles; consequently I use mine mainly with black & white.
I use a Skink pinhole on my XP1 sometimes. I enjoy it. Having LiveView makes it much easier than it would be with a film camera. I guess there are exposure tables, but the LCD works very well.
I've used varios pinholes on Nikon D5100, FujiXA1 and FujiXE1 and they work very nicely. Be aware of the edge color effects that JoeV mentions above. I found that using a lens adapter (like Nikon-to-Fuji) reduces this effect by pushing the pinhole away from the body and making the pinhole less of a wide angle "lens".
