I'll buy one -the dura silver is my favorite. I've found an online seller in Vietnam but they only carry the black version. I might also just wait until I can travel again, and perhaps by that time the price has come down.
The Dura-silver version looks really nice but given the choice I’ve always favoured black bodied cameras.
I would have been perfectly happy with a black paint ‘3’ - my ‘2’ was black paint and held up really well to wear and scuffs etc - but I was offered proportionally more in part-exchange for my ‘2’ to purchase the Dura-black version than a black paint ‘3’.
Of course Dura-black is marketing nonsense. It might be Dura-able (time will tell - remember Leica’s black chrome?) but it certainly isn’t black.

Finger prints? If they’re not on the lens I’m not sure what the problem is.
The X-Pro3 is my dream camera - I have 2 now - Dura black and black...Mike
Thanks for posting the Astia simulation photos, Mike.
Haven’t yet tried Astia out in Britain’s quite often dismal winter/early spring light but it is getting sunnier every day.
Astia looks really nice in your Japan shots, even in very strong and contrasty midday overhead sun.
How do you process the images, Mike? Are they straight out of camera? Exposure compensated?

Well, I am not hung-up on whatever version of the camera. I am more interested in a good deal -and the Fuji Vietnam prices are on par, or slightly lower than the US prices. Let's see for how much longer I'll be able to control my GAS...

I have the black one, because that is the one I like the look of the most. I think a correct description of the finishes is silver (dura silver), grey (dura black) and black.
It was a bonus that the one I wanted was the cheapest one.
There would be two things I would change with the camera:
1. The exp compensation dial's detents feel the same no matter where you are on it. The zeroed position should have a much firmer click.
b. You cannot adjust the frame line brightness in the OVF with native lenses. Only with adapted lenses. This is weird, one should be able to manually adjust it not matter what lens is on the camera.
It really is a delightful picture taking machine, and I have not used my Digital Leica M since I got it.
It does not match up to the M at all with build quality if that matters to anyone. I'm a bit disappointed that all the markings on the camera - shutter speed dial, exp comp, name, etc are painted on, not engraved and filled. These may eventually wear off with heavy use.

I hadn’t noticed this, Huss.
On the Dura coated versions the markings are laser etched and filled, and they aren't as clear as my black paint '2'.

FWIW, I have used my X100F hard for about three years at this point, and the painted on numbers are still in great shape. Three years isn't exactly a lifetime, but the numbers are still going strong while the paint wears off everywhere else. I think that's a good sign.

Interesting. On the black paint they are just painted on.
Don't get me wrong, this camera is fantastic. The lenses are crazy good. I have an M adapter but frankly I don't see the point. I wish Leica would come out with an M with a hybrid VF.

Hello Brian, and thank you. Astia is my go to color film simulation. I’ve tried the others but always wind up back with Astia. I shoot JPEG. My in camera settings are : H-tone is set at -1, S-tone is set at +1 and Sharp is set at +1. I always leave the exposure setting on zero. If I deem it necessary i’ll tweak the exposure in Google Photos after uploading.
All the best,
Mike

Thanks for the heads up Mike, just updated mine.
It would be nice to know what the update is, all they say is 'bug fixes'..
I'd like to be able to adjust OVF frame line brightness when Fuji lenses are being used.
