Hey guys, does the XT1 do highspeed sync if i use the electronic shutter rather than the mechanical?

Nope.. Flash only w/ mechanical if I remember correctly.

As Gary said... definitely not.
Most ES systems introduce spatial distortions when the subjects are in motion. Even camera motion (unintended leaning in or out) can cause distortions.
The ES is most useful to avoid using a ND filter. Otherwise it can be a source of surprises and confusion.
