Hi everyone,
I've come back to Sydney from an overseas holiday with a bag of film that needs developing (first time in almost a year, sadly) only to find that it's beginning to look like I can't find Kodak Xtol at retail in Sydney any more. Ted's in the CBD don't have it (they used to occasionally, but they're all Ilford now) and I'm guessing from the disappearance of the location from their website that Vanbar's Camperdown store is gone..?
Does anyone know if there's somewhere in Sydney I can find some?

Fotoreisel used to carry it from memory, but this is before they got taken/bought over with new management so you could always try if you're in the city.
Otherwise, you may be out of luck for this one, and have to order and get it shipped from Vanbar Melbourne.

It's not quite Kodak Xtol, but Blanco Negro in Alexandria sell Fomadon Excel which is apparently a clone of Xtol.

Otherwise, Photoresource.com.au seems to work out cheaper than Vanbar for Xtol considering the shipping charges.

I used to get mine from Vanbar in Camperdown as well, but haven't lived in Sydney for a few years now. Shame if they've gone - it was a good store!

Ditto here about Vanbar. I'll try Fomadon next time. Blanco Negro is easy to find, at the south end of Redfern. While you're there pick up some Fomapan 200 - see Johnmcd's thread on that film. Nice.

A good friend is going to share some of his xtol, so I'm set for now, but I will definitely check out Blanco Negro and Fomadon Excel.
The film sounds interesting too... since the disappearance of Neopan 400 I've not really settled on anything I like as much.

Thanks Lynn. Yes I highly recommend both Fomapan 200 and Blanco Negro. Chris the owner is a very helpful guy who is running a fantastic darkroom as well from that location and doing some great work to keep the art alive and well in Sydney.
