Xtol mixing and storage schemes

I have been trying Xtol at 1+2 and 1+3 lately. It works fine in both dilutions. You should get an increase in acutance and more noticeable grain with less contrast by doing this. With Delta 100 film I am seeing a little more acutance and lower contrast, but there's so little grain that it's hard to see a change there. The main advantage is to have a reliable and less expensive one-shot developer as I'm only using 100ml of developer with 300ml of water for each 35mm film. My Xtol 1+3 dev time for Delta 100 to give good scannable negs is 11 minutes at 20 degrees C with 10 seconds agitation per minute.

Thanks for your post. I'd like to try 1:2 with TMAX 100 - seems appropriate for the look of that film. But I am skeptical about 100ml of developer per roll. I tried 250ml of developer 1:1 for two rolls of T-Max some time ago and got usable but thin negatives. I asked about it and it ignited something of a debate here. Since then I have been using Xtol 1:1, i.e. 250ml developer and 250ml water for one roll at a time and have had no problems.

I haven't got any TMax 100 in 35mm at the moment but I was going to try the 120 I have with 150ml dev and 450ml of water and around 13 minutes at 20 degrees. I am hoping to get fuller shadow detail from the Tmax with gentler highlights at this dilution.
