Just be aware that some interaction between your developer and the cheap plastic might occur, and become a factor.
Normally, stainless steel or glass is used for best mixing practice.

I've been mixing Xtol in cheap plastic buckets for over 20 years. Never had a problem.

No problem here either. I store my Xtol in plastic bottles, so I can’t see how 20 minutes of mixing would affect anything.
The most important thing is to ensure your bucket is bright Kodak yellow. That ensures it mixes much more quickly and evenly.

Same here w/ no problems using plastic and chemicals. Lots of people keep their developer, fixer, etc in gallon plastic milk jugs anyway. Never saw anyone mix or store chemicals in stainless, just plastic and glass, and glass with marbles to keep the air out is a PITA.
I use the plastic pails from Dollar Tree. They're pretty deep, only a dollar, and the handle is handy.

Nope, the bucket color needs to match the Ilford film packaging. Green bucket for HP5+, blue bucket for FP4+, orange bucket for Pan F+, etc...
