I just got it serviced a few weeks back.

One thing that I noticed is that bulb mode don't seem to be working correctly as the shutter will emit a whining sound at around 10 second mark and close off by itself although I have yet to release the shutter button.

When i tested on Auto mode, the camera has no problem going beyond 10 seconds when it needs the exposure time.

according to the shop i went for the repair, it was due to the 4.5V battery that I was using, a 5.6V one will solve the problem i.e. bulb mode will work as needed.

Anyone has any comments?

The voltage theory sounds plausible - I use 4xsr44 (giving 6.2v) and the camera regulates this down to its working voltage. If the battery voltage is less than about 0.8v above the regulated voltage, it may struggle. A higher voltage battery is definitely worth a try.

A 4.5v battery could definitely be the problem. If you still have it after putting in a new battery, it's possible that your repair shop didn't change the POD properly, if they changed it at all.

Weird shutter problems almost always have the reek of (the Pad of) Death...

My GTN makes makes a whining noise as well, only when it's in auto mode. I always thought that is was normal, and my exposures have been good.

Could be an electronic problem , or it could be as simple as dirty contacts... :p

That is very normal in Auto mode at the end of a long exposure, but shouldn't happen in B...
