Hello everyone,
Just came back from a trip to Japan with my Yashica 35CC and I think it got broken in my bag. When I took it off the shutter release button was pressed whereas it was locked... I tried a few things which may have made things worse, like advancing the film advance lever or pushing in the film rewind release button.
So not it looks like this:
95m6

Is there anyway I can fix it? I managed to get the film out.
I would be so sad if it got broken so easily, I love this camera and it is my only film camera.
I may go buy some tiny screwdrivers and try to remove the top. I have no experience in this, do you think I can easily get that button unstuck? Any idea as to what may have happened?

Many thanks,
Kingston

Well, take it apart, and figure out what has become stuck. Unless you used force, de-synchronisation issues like this do resolve themselves upon dis- and (proper) reassembly...

you'll also want a spanner wrench/pliers to remove the screw on top of the film advance lever. if you take it to your local hardware store, they should be able to help you find something that is the proper size for the two holes.
Also, here's a link to the Yashica Guy Electro 35 repair guide he's got great notes on the other Electro's which should be similar.

oh, and don't remove the screw that is visible when you flip up the rewind handle

when I had received mine it had the same problem. I did manage to repair it but I don't remember exactly how I did it, it's abt. 8 years ago. I had removed both top and bottom plate and there was a lever at the upper assembly that had not returned as it should. This incomplete action had been caused by a washer that had 'fallen off' and had needed to be put back in place. The record of my help request and reports are still available, I just saw that in the meantime it even had become part of this very forum. I hope this helps: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/classics/forum/messages/15681/12495.html?1217981156

Thanks everyone!
Just bought a fairly complete box of precision tools (tiny screwdrivers, spanner wrenches...) that should do the job.
I'll try to follow Yashica Guy explanations and see how far I can go and if I'm lucky enough to fix it. Will keep you posted if I'm successful!

In the meantime, just ordered a Yashica GSN. Not sure how I'll like switching from 35 to 45mm but it should be a good complementary camera if I can fix this one!

I have a lovely GSN and if you get a good one they are really nice cameras with extraordinary IQ. Also something cool about that vintage high-tech body.

Yes I'm still happy I ordered a GSN!

And...
I managed to fix the CC!
Just followed the steps to remove the 3 screws + shutter advance lever + rewind knob (thankfully it was easy) and as soon as I started removing the top plate the shutter release button got unstuck!

I was lucky. It's fixed for now. Probably don't have the necessary skills to dig further into that issue but if it happens again I'll know what to do.

I followed that guide, I found it easier than Yashica Guy:

Thanks everyone!

Glad you managed to fix the camera. CC is a nice and compact sweet little camera.
I just made a short hood for it by combining a 52mm UV filter with elements removed and a 52-54mm adapter ring. It doesn't block the already cut frame line.

"Vintage high-tech", very accurate description for Electro 35. ⚛
