The first roll is back: all outdoor pictures and many of the indoor shots came out well. But I learned one big lesson: all of the shots taken with a room light above the camera and lighting the subject came out very dard. Using ASA 400 film, the aperture of the CDS cell opens up almost all of the way. I believe that the light was in the FOV of the sensor, or at least shining and reflecting into it. It was out of the lens FOV. The result was underexposure. I have to remember to "think different" with auto cameras! I am convinced that it is not the shutter; it holds open for long periods when pointed into dark regions. I am thinking a "sun shade" for the CDS cell would be a good idea; such as the one my Hi-Matic 9 has.
Thoughts?
BTW I placed a bid on a user-Nikon SP this week that did not make its reserve. The seller offered it to me at less than the reserve, it arrived yesterday. I calibrated the RF (as required and noted in the auction) and cleaned out the front panel glass. It is a great user, brassing but no dents. I still have to fix the aperture on the really clean F1.4 lens, but I have my 3.5cm on it now. It ran about HALF of what the other SP's have been going for, $900.
