Yashica Electro GSN: Fungus in Lens

I found this YE GSN in good condition but the front lens group has some fungus. I got the front group out, but the fungus is between the elements. How to I separate the elements?

Or do I now look for another Electro to replace the front group?

I'd get another...user or apparently non working beater for pennies to swap out front element.

Who has cemented back together optical elements, just for curiosity?

I don't think the elements are cemented in the group -- I think they have an air gap between them -- that's where the fungus has got in.

hm...looking at front optical piece, often referred as front element which comes out as single piece, I need to think how to separate optical elements. Please let know results if you take it apart.

There is a gap between the elements in the front grouping.
How you get into this I do not know.
I always just swap out the front grouping of elements.
Buy a non-working example off Ebay that has decent front elements and you are all set - this will also give you other spare parts for the future.

BTW: All the old 'bangers' I've bought for spares, with the exception of one, I have been able to get working!
