I got a Yashica GS off of eBay recent and after I got the battery in and put a roll of film through did I realize that when I turn the aperture ring, it alway stays at f16 no matter what mode I'm in (Auto, B). Is this a mechanical or electrical problem? I have no problem going into the lens if I have to, I've done a fair amount of camera repair... Otherwise, I'll just have to buy another one... :bang:

The first Lynx I worked on had this problem. If the tab is broken you will need a new ring. I might have one, let me know with a pm.

Thanks all... When I get some time later this week, I'll tear the lens apart and get it working...

That was it. The aperture tab was not engaged. I just matched them up and put it all back together and it's working fine now... I think the previous owner tried to go into the lens to fix it, but chickened out when he got past the first retaining ring since there is some scratches around the first ring, but nothing deeper into the lens... I've got a roll in now and hopefully, I'll get it developed in the next couple of days...
