Yashica GSN Shutter Issue

I just recieved my "new" Yashica GSN and it seems to have an issue with the shutter. I have searched the forums but do not see the exact issue I am having. Basically when the shutter is released it opens but does not close. The only way it seems to get it to close is by using the film advance. Is this a common issue and is it easy to fix?

Hope I don't sound too ignorant but I am not sure what a POD is. 🙂

I stink at fixes, so I sent my GTN out to Mark Hama - for $90ish he did a CLA and POD replacement. Took less that 2 weeks including mailing it off to GA. I sent my GT at the same time and he gave me a discount on the second.

My MG1 was doing something similar until I replaced the POD. The entire opertion took less than 1/2 hour - now it works as it's supposed to. Does your camera make an audible "clunk" when you advance the film. It should.! If not, then the POD needs replacing. Harlee
