I just got a GT from the auction site cheap. Of course, it didn't work either and had goo for seals. After a microsurgery replacement of the "pad of death" and new seals, the camera WORKS and is beautiful. It is so gratifying to tear a camera apart and have it work when put back together. That does not always happen around my house :) . However, compared to my GS and a handheld light meter against a grey card, the GT meter seems to be 1 2/3 stops off. To meter correctly at ISO 100, I have to set the camera at ISO 32.

This is somewhat cool because I could shoot fast film, but, if I want to use a red filter with ISO 100 film, I can't dial the meter down far enough to compensate. I have done a quick search of the forum and google, but I have not found any tips to adjust the meter. I checked two different batteries and got the same result so I don't think it is a power issue.

Would the pad thickness make a difference or does the presence of the pad solve the electrical issues? I can't wait to shoot a test roll on this one, the glass is almost perfect :D Why does it have to be so dark at night?
