Yashica IC 14e problem

I just bought it a while ago and I have 1 problem. i can't get the battery compartment cover off. there is no visible battery leak from the outside. can you suggest some methods to free the cap? serial no. is 0032468 japan. thanks

May I ask what ways have you already tryied, so I can eliminate them from the list ?

Great camera...

Avoid temptation to shoot wide-open (unless going for shallow DOF effects) like most 1.4's this does best between f2.0/f2.8 and F4, it's "sweet spot" where you get good contrast and sharpness and a nice shallow DOF with close-up subjects.

Tomioka optical may not have had the reputation of the Nikons, Leicas, Canons, or even the Pentaxes of the world, but they sure knew how to make a really good, fast lens in the 45-55 focal length.

Have fun with you Lynx. A personal fave, and use a lenshood - manditory - outdoors, and/or shoot with the sun behind you if you can.
 
well guys, something is preventing me to remove the top cover. i've removed already the advance lever and rewind crank and the 2 screws. something is keeping it from coming off. signs of corrosion inside. the white wire is already detached, oxidation ate it up! i'm not going any further this time.

i guess i'm going to use the Lynx without it's meter. much more interesting, eh?
