My Yashica T4 is consistently scratching film. I can't figure out where or why. Is there anywhere that services T4's that could fix this? It's been my go to camera for color film and travel for almost 15 years.

Check that the film guides are clean and have no blemishes. Many scratches are caused by a bit of emulsion that falls down on the image area of the film and finally ends up on the felt where the film enters the cartridge while it's being rewound..

Also check any rollers. If the scratches are consistent in their height, you should be able to @ least narrow down where the problem is coming from.

As far as service, if you're in the U.S., you should check w/ToCAD, as they're the official legacy Kyocera Yashica/Contax repair contractor.

They are actually inconsistent, well same place but not on every frame and I don't bulk load my film.

I'm going to give it a good cleaning. I often take it to the beach and although it's sealed with a rubber gasket, sand tends to be crafty.

I just got around to scanning some slides from the summer and have fallen back in love with this camera for color.
