Can anyone tell me if you have used a yellow filter on a CV 21 lens w/ B&W 100 or 400 film? How were the results? did it make an improvement in contrast, etc? Can you post a couple of images?
Sorry, but I don't really have any pictures at hand. Mostly I use an orange filter on the 21, because I tend to use it for landscape shots with a lot of sky in them, where the yellow filter does not give me enough cloud/sky separation.
I did notice that the 21 tends to flare somewhat easier when using a filter. At least with the original tiny hood...
does not matter which lens you use it on, a yellow will add a bit more contrast, darken blues, lighten yellow to red etc. In overcast conditions it makes no difference
No vignetting on my CV21. No flare either but mine is a B&W MRC. I mainly used orange (as no yellow) but just got my yellow one thru.
Yellow is std on all my lenses, with orange when I need more drama and the filter coming off if I need more speed. However, the B&W #11 yellow only soaks up 1/3 stop, despite the literature saying one stop. Not true no matter how you test. 1/3-1/2 stop depending on amount of blue sky reflected. At high altitude under a deep blue sky maybe more than1/2 stop, but for most of the time....
