Congrats on the X-Pro 1, and thanks for the remarks from the perspective of a long time M user.
I've been drawn to the X-Pro 1, and subsequently the X-E1, since they have come out. With a rangefinder-like body and autofocus, plus this rather remarkable image quality, they look great. They do have their quirks, particularly revolving around AF speed and lack of good video, that made me turn to the OM-D instead. But as much as I love the OM-D, the image quality doesn't have that depth or colour that the new Fuji aps-c cameras do.
The upcoming X100S shows the features that future iterations of the X-cams will have, like much faster AF that uses on-sensor PDAF architecture, and much improved video mode. This fixes my issues with the X-cams. So it makes sense to wait for new X-cams with those features, and meanwhile get the most out of my M9, OM-D and abruptly large m43 lens collection!

Congrats on your new XP1.
I got mine with 35mm lens Nov last year. At first I was quite amazed by the sharpness and contrast the XP1 is producing. Bear in mind I was using Canon 7D + Canon prime lens previously.
SOOC monochrome is also great, perhaps due to the lens contrast characteristic.
Later on I found the XP1 in standard setting is too harsh for portrait. Skin imperfection shows too obviously. So now whenever I do portrait of women, I set the sharpness -1, and shadow -1, to give a more flattering look.
Currently I'm looking for vintage Nikkor 50mm LTM lens specifically for portrait. Perhaps it will make a good match for XP1.
BR, Heru.

Last week there was a significant improvement to the Fujinon 35/1.4 XF on-board AF firmware.
Right now my XP1 AF works well in any light. This is not a claim that the camera will outperform competitors in all circumstances, or even any circumstances. The point is, the AF performance is vastly improved compared since the recent body and lens' firmware. AF is not an issue unless you require real-time subject tracking.
If Fuj's implementation of the virtual split finder works well, when this technology reaches the XP/XE line, using third-party lenses will be even more practical.

Significant?

JR,
I found the low-light AF to be much better. On the other hand, I test the AF by focusing on objects in my home office/study/library at night. AF in MF mode using the OVF was the most improved.
Anyway, AF with the 35/1.4 right now iis significantly improved compared to the first iteration of camera and lens firmware.
