Canon LTM yes! iv sb is here

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Definitely more compact, interesting though that the very tallest part of the IV seems to match the height of the P. Looks to be a good coat pocket camera.

that's an illusion rover, the p is almost 1/2 inch higher than the iv sb and that's not counting the soft release.

Joe: I have too many of those adapters-I'll put one in the mail tomorrow. Also, I pulled one of those screws out and discovered it's longer than you'd expect. Another easy freebie from the cla shop that's getting US dollars from you?

Victor has a good point, call Essex and have them add a couple screws to the return package with your camera and lens.

thanks victor, my wrist thanks you as do i.

really long eh?

i emailed essex on thursday for an update but recieved no reply. the camera just might be in the mail already but i will try again monday or tuesday i guess. long weekend for the 'mericans.

just for the heck of it...i took these from the ebay ad.

victor, is that the screw you took out? on the upper part of the top? just below the shoe.

joe

Here's a couple of (horrible) digi snaps of the screws: the one on the left is one of those holding on the shoe and the (shorter) one on the right is the one that goes into the back. It has an unusually large head.

It has an unusually large head.

i have been told the same thing.;)

i will soon find out if these screws are having any affect on the film i.e. light leaks. i'm doubting it. the seller has been very honest so far and she said that not having them in has not affected use of the camera.
hopefully i'll be ok till i find some.
thanks for the pics, you're a very generous guy.

90 bucks for the camera and the damn thing actually works!

i have some negs hangin' out to dry and after a quick initial inspection they look pretty good.
i'll need to scan and take a closer look but i don't see any light leaks or shutter banding or any nasty things.

now i just need the lll to show, along with the collapsible 50. that will be a very nice and small package.

joe

some pics from the iv sb. lens was 50/1.8

a few shots were kinda fuzzy so i'm thinking that i need to get used to the smaller size and lighter weight (all things are relative) of the camera.
i miss the grip and i think that makes a difference to getting sharper shots.

They look good to me too !!

IMHO everybody should experience a thumb wind camera at least once. I still remember how skeptical I was when I first received my Fed-2, I even thought that the thing will break after the first 3 shots :D so strange it looked to me.

But thumb winders have their own rythm and in some way they manage to pass it to you :)

And btw, nice can ;)

what's a "thumb wind" camera?
Or is it nothing special but one with a wind lever, not motor nor knob but lever? Like yashica GSN, canonet etc?

Pherdi that's indeed a very good question...

Ok ok, gimme a break, I haven't had my coffee yet... :p

Post coffee edit: Got it, I meant 'knob wind' camera...

Those screws being missing won't cause any light leaks. They are metric threaded.

You're also missing the trim ring over the front RF window. Probably the most commonly missing part of a bottom load Canon RF.

Sherry Krauter and DAG may have parts. Shipping may be more expensive than the parts.

i just noticed that front bezel was missing yesterday (i think). what a keen observer i am, after staring at the pics on ebay and then having the camera in my hand and taking photos with it, then i notice!! ha!

i was going to wait till tomorrow to see if i get a response from essex on the status of my repair and if it has not been shipped yet, i will ask them if they have the spare parts needed.
