I have:
M6
R-D1s
Bessa R2
Olympus 35 RC
Olympus 35 SP
Rolleiflex 3.5T
Lubitel 2
Ricoh GR-D
Olympus 7070
Canon 300D
I need a clear out. I think the R-D1s, the Olympus 7070 and the Canon 300D need new homes. I'm happy with film for b&w and the GR-D for colour, and much as I like the R-D1s a lot I've barely used it for the last couple of months. The Canon and the 7070 haven't been used for even longer. I don't like holding onto things I don't use.
Ian
The clear out has worked. I've sold the R-D1s, the GR-D, the 300D, and the 7070, leaving me with "just":
Leica M6
Bessa R2
Olympus 35 SP
Olympus 35 RC
Rolleiflex 3.5T
Lubitel 2
I've also acquired a Pentax K100D for colour - it's small for an SLR, has the same sensor as the Epson, quite a good viewfinder, was very cheap (Jessops are currently selling it with the kit lens for £299), and with a couple of cheap but decent old Pentax manual primes it takes very good pictures indeed.
Next plan is to sell the CV 35/1.7 (a focal length I don't need, although it was ideal on the Epson) and the 21/4.0, which I don't use enough, and buy a CV 28/3.5, leaving me with three 50mm primes (one Leica 50/2.0, one CV 50/1.5 and one Canon 50/1.2) and one wide for the 2 RF bodies.
Then a Fuji or Maimya 6x7 and I'm done. Really
Ian
This thread has turned from a count to a listing, becoming like the old thread I recall named something like "What have you got?" Clearly we love to list...

Whoah... this is scary.. I wrote that exactly three months ago, and it hasn't changed despite massive surges of GAS..pvdhaar said:I did a massive cleanout last year, leaving only..

Oh, and to be fair, I've also got a defective Konica-Minolta G530 P&S that I use as a card reader..

Wow, some of you guys better have insurance riders! I have no digital but one very lousy P/S. I used to have as many as 5 RF bodies, which I have now pared down to 3, all of them being leicas. I am considering a 4th film RF body, the ZI; and this would go against my instincts, as I have never before desired a body with AE because I am a stubborn chap who thinks problem solving the exposure mentally is part of the art. Truly, though, the VF is what interests me most in the ZI.

So...
G2, M6, ME Super, ME, Minilux, Lubitel
A Fed2 that doesn't work.
A Kiev4 that maybe work (I should find out tonight while developping the first film)
That would be "5 to 10" then... Already too much !
Should I add my phone to the list ? That's the only digital I have

Three... Nikon D50, Canon A-1, and a Leica M6. I think that'll be it for a while for me. I need to build my lens collection as I only have four lenses total (1 zoom for the D50, 2 primes for my A-1, and one prime for my M6).

One less. I just gave a Pentax MG with lenses to my daughter to begin her film photographic journey.

The best camera is one that still works!

You gave her an SLR ... what were you thinking?

Keith, I've got to keep her away from Leica M's!

I didn't go back and look but I think my count was in the high two digits. When I came to my summer job, I brought 5 cameras with me--Zorki 3m, Pentax UC-1, Seagull 4a-107(TLR), Kodak Retina 1a, and EOS Rebel II.
And have realized that with those, I'm pretty well covered. I'm going to have to think long and hard about all the other gear I didn't bring and whether I keep 'em all or not.
And I really don't need to have all the ones I did bring with me. The Retina and the Pentax cover similar uses, I brought the rebel for two lenses(one long telephoto and one macro) and seem to have got that out of my system already.
Next year(I"m planning on keeping this summer job as long as I can ) I think it will be three--possibly 4--cameras: TLR, Zorki (and/or Bessa R), and P&S. And I don't think I'll miss much.
Either that or I'll get serious about big negs and sort out a 4x5 or 5x7 kit over the winter...you know, just to keep things simple.

2 yashica gx (chrome & black),
FM2, FE2, F4 (from my father),
minolta 7s (from my father),
polariod sx-7,

that is, total 12 and I try to get them use regularly except the polariod, F4, FM2. I would like to get 'thin' but can't figure out which should be sold. any suggestion?

Some are in the 'just have to have but don't shoot much at all' category (mainly OM's) but this is the current list in order of use,
1. 20D
2. R3A
3. Ricoh GRD (my digital street cam)
4. Sony F717 (for IR only)
5. OM2
6. OM1
7. OM10
8. Mamiya C220
9. Olympus mju II
Next purchase? Xpan, RD1 or Sigma DP1
Just want but probably won't shoot - Olympus Pen F (serious GAS everytime I see one)
Cheers,
John

When I looked at my cabinet, casually, I thought about 10. Then I counted and am embarrased to say; low twenties.
Must get rid of some.
Then I can get some more!

I actually had to sit down and do a list. I have 16 cameras.
For work:
Canon 1dsmkii
Nikon D2x
For myself, here are my favorites (ie, most used):
Leica MP (most used these days)
Hassey 503
Rolleiflex 2.8F
I won't bother listing the rest as I don't want to leave evidence for my husband, lol.
